The employee plans and oversees Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) engineering projects from inception to completion, requiring
technical expertise in MPD applications to execute on challenging wells.
• Analyze pre-specified hydraulics scenarios by running hydraulic models
• Develop MPD training materials and coordinate and conduct MPD training, if necessary, for
• Schedule post-well evaluations and after-action analysis meetings
• Report results related to the well and MPD objectives
• Responsible for documenting engineering and operational lessons learned and best practices
• Establish positive client relationships across all organizational levels to advocate for MPD
• Prepare recommendations for improvements to the MPD system and operations
• Calculate pressure drops through interconnecting piping equipment
• Develop rig drawings showing the location of MPD-related rig equipment, piping tie-in points,
and rig zone ratings of the area selected for MPD equipment
• Develop kick-response scenarios related to the MPD system capabilities (MPD Well Control
• Review operator safety cases and modify for project-specific applications
• Develop the procedural and training requirements related to the well objectives and MPD
applications, HAZID/HAZOP awareness, MPD operations, MPD procedures, and HSE for MPD
• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent engineering degree, or technical diploma and relevant experience
• 5-7+ years of experience in strategizing and implementing MPD operations (Onshore and
• 5+ years of experience in engineering or applications roles
• Ability to work on rotation 28/28 or an alternative cycle
• Expertise and background in well design and planning, encompassing casing design, BHA
• IWCF Level 4 Well Control (Combined Surface and Subsea)
