plays a critical role in supporting international trade by analyzing, coordinating, and optimizing international supply chain operations. In addition to core responsibilities, the analyst serves as a key backup to the Director of Global Logistics, providing leadership support during absences and contributing to strategic initiatives and cross-functional coordination.
This is a full-time hybrid position at our offices in Chicago, IL. The salary range for this role is $75,000-$80,000, based on experience.
- Review all documents pertaining to international trade and ensure their accuracy before filing
- Track material as it flows from the supplier to customs to the consumer
- Ensure the accuracy of data entered into database software by the International Logistics Coordinator
- Schedule loads and handle issues and other customer-related concerns that pertain to delivering goods to the plant for end consumers
- Support the completion of all contracts (Sales and Purchases) for international trading transactions
- Work closely with customers by following contract terms regarding material pickup and delivery
- Maintain all international documents relating to supply chain process in accordance with governmental policies
- Exposure to the reconciliation process for previous years’ entries
- Monitor the weekly international budget
- Facilitate the filing of necessary transportation documents
- Follow current trends in international trade and build a strategy to combat trading headwinds
- Support customs audits and requests for information
- Informal mentorship of the International Logistics Coordinator
- Serve as backup support to the Director of Global Logistics
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, international business preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in an International freight environment
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced, global environment
- Ability to research, collect, and track pertinent data
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven experience in forecasting spend and conducting cost analysis of freight and customs activities
- Capable of working independently while providing guidance and mentorship to the International Logistics Coordinator
- Ability to serve as backup to the Director of Global Logistics during absences
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond to employees and customers with respect and consideration
- Ability to prioritize tasks to achieve the highest productivity while maintaining work quality
- Ability to work in a loud environment
- Knowledge of Microsoft-based products
- Interest in international business with a strong desire to expand knowledge in government affairs and customs regulations
