This position is a part of the Technical Implementations Team. Individual will be responsible for providing IT system and application support to NISC employees and customers in person as well as via phone and e-mail.

Current applications submitted will be under consideration for Summer 2026 (May - August)

Essential Functions

- Install and update Veeam Backup and Replication software for NISC members.

- Monitor Veeam Backup and Replication jobs run at NISC member sites and in NISC's Veeam data center.

- Assist Technical Implementations Team with configuration of Linux and Windows servers and virtual machines.

- Perform OS package and service pack upgrades on existing servers.

- Create and test printers on Windows and Linux servers.

- Install SSL certificates on Linux servers.

- Monitor Windows and Linux servers via Xymon monitoring tools.

- Log and develop action plans for support issues identified by Xymon.

- Ensures that all information is appropriately entered and utilized in the iVUE Support tool.

Desired Experience

- Strong customer orientation.

- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems.

- Familiarity with Linux and Windows servers and operating systems.

- Familiarity with the setup and support of TCP/IP networks.

- Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong verbal and written, interpersonal, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.

- Ability to effectively adapt to change.

- Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external contacts.

- Ability to convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical users.

Desired Education and/or Certification(s)

- High School diploma or equivalency required

- Pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a computer related field.
