We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant Intern to join our team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting and financial processes, particularly in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions, while working alongside a dynamic and collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
Job Duties
Accounts Payable (AP):
• Assist in receiving, verifying, and processing invoices and employee reimbursement requests.
• Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and service providers.
• Maintain organized records of all AP transactions and support documentation.
• Reconcile AP-related accounts and assist in resolving discrepancies.
Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Support the preparation and issuance of invoices to clients and customers.
• Monitor and track incoming payments, ensuring accurate posting to accounts.
• Assist in following up on overdue accounts and coordinating collection efforts.
• Maintain accurate records of all AR transactions and communications.
Billing
• Assist in the preparation and processing of billing statements and invoices.
• Ensure billing accuracy by verifying pricing, quantities, and contract terms.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing inquiries and disputes.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of billing process improvements.
General Ledger
• Perform general ledger accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings.
• Help ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Requirements
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to a professional setting.
