The CPS Energy Internship Program is designed to meet the industry’s rapidly changing workforce needs by providing San Antonio College students an opportunity to be paired with a mentor to acquire meaningful hands-on experiences that expands their understanding of the industry and exposes them to essential skills they must acquire or develop to succeed. The internship is designed for the intern to learn to perform in a work environment and understand the rationale behind the strategies used. Applicants must reside in the San Antonio Metropolitan area and are currently enrolled in school or recently graduated to qualify.
The Employee Relations Intern will support the Employee Relations team in fostering a positive, productive and compliant work environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to HR practices with a focus on employee relations, HR compliance and workplace investigations. The ER intern will assist with research, documentation, data analysis and special projects while learning how ER Business Partners work with employees and leaders to resolve concerns, maintain policies and reduce organizational risks.

Review company policies, processes, procedures to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws
Conduct research regarding employment law updates and employee relations best practices
Assist with developing presentations, job aids, and corporate communication regarding company policies and employee relations topics
Shadow ERBP’s in investigations, policy reviews and leadership coaching
Assist in analyzing employee survey data and metrics to identify themes
Help prepare reports and dashboards on ER trends, case volume and outcomes
Work in a team environment to support the business units
Must be currently enrolled in a related discipline.
Must currently reside within 120 miles of CPS Energy Headquarters.
Demonstrate an interest in a career applicable to the utility industry.
Attend all activities sponsored by CPS Energy during employment.
Pass a drug test and background screen prior to employment with CPS Energy.
