The Mechanical/Piping Designer will be responsible for generating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), 3D equipment models and piping systems, the development of isometric drawings from the 3D model, Equipment Location Drawings, Plot Plans, Piping Plans, and Sections and Standard Detail drawings. Redline drafting of EI&C or other discipline drawings may be required periodically under the supervision and instruction of that discipline’s lead.
The Mechanical/Piping Designer will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary team by providing workable 3D models for other disciplines inside the company as well as 3rd party vendors, such as EI&C, Structural, and Civil, and assist with the development of structural systems (Pipe Racks and Supports), Survey Drawings, grading drawings or any other construction documents that may be required by a client.
· Generation of Piping & Instrument Diagrams with engineering resources.
·Lead projects that require measurements and as-built documentation of field assets.
· Create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects under the supervision of Lead Designers.
· Collaborate with others to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems.
· Keep up to date on industry and design standards.
· Responsible for working with and collaborating with remote resources at multiple offices.
· Understanding and practice of CANUSA safety standards while performing business-related services.
· Meet technical team department productivity and quality goals.
· Perform to CANUSA to engineering standards, policies, or details.
· Work may require travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections.
· Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.
· Working knowledge of ASME and API codes.
· Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems
· Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information
· Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
· A minimum level of 5 years’ experience designing engineered systems.
· Experiences working at or with EPCMs, Producers and Midstream Companies
· Secondary Training in AutoCAD Plant 3D Design
· A passport and eligible travel to USA
· Oral communication—the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, demonstrates group presentation skills, and conducts meetings.
· Written Communication—the individual edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively, and can read and interpret written information.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draws valid conclusions.
