THE OPPORTUNITY

As electrical designers, our mission is to deliver innovative designs and high-quality project deliverables. It’s about looking at things from a different perspective, execution and exceeding client expectations. We have a diverse team of creative and knowledgeable designers that are constantly looking at different ways to do things better – to design better.

We are looking for a dynamic designer that not only has the technical know-how in electrical design but has the capacity to lead and demonstrate best design practices. As a senior designer, you will work directly with the project team and will be accountable for maintaining project schedule and budget. This is a hands-on role – we’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid to get in the trenches and lead by example.

The role reports directly to the Design Manager.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Monitor project scopes, schedules, and budgets as it pertains to design and drafting.

- Ensure all drawings and drafting deliverables are prepared in accordance with Scovan Standards and Specifications.

- Coordinate and execute schedule requirements for paperspace deliverables with Project Manager and Design Team.

- Schedules and facilitates internal or external model reviews including weekly meetings with drafting teams to discuss drafting deliverables progress or updates.

- Pursue design and drafting excellence. Be relentless in pursuit of opportunities to automate, optimize and advance productivity and efficiencies that help reduce overall costs and increases the quality of drafting deliverables.

- Identify potential operational barriers and improve on the reliability of our design and drawings.

- Provide technical guidance to drafters.

- Collaborate with project teams, engineering team, electrical team and other project partners/stakeholders in the duration of a project.

QUALIFICATIONS

- Minimum of 8+ years of electrical design experience of applicable project execution experience.

- You come with a technical electrical design background and have exposure to electrical design execution and responsibilities in your past roles.

- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.

- Hold either a degree, diploma or certificate from an accredited institution.

- Experience in emerging energy fields is a definite asset.

- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills and the ability to manage in an environment of ambiguity with a diverse range of partners.

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with continuous deliveries. pace is fast.
