Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one Instrumentation Technologist to join our valued client’s team in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This is a full-time position, ideally suited to an individual with extensive oil and gas experience who is committed to excellence, safety, and professional growth.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation and control systems for oil and gas equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize instrumentation to ensure reliability and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance.
- Provide technical expertise and support during commissioning and shutdown activities.
- Travel to field sites as required to support operational needs.
- 5–10 years of experience working with oil and gas equipment.
- Journeyperson Instrumentation Technologist certification or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, controls, and process equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance standards.
- Experience in both plant and field-based instrumentation roles.
- Familiarity with distributed control systems (DCS) and programmable logic controllers (PLC).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
This role involves both shop and field work in oil and gas operations. Candidates must be comfortable working in outdoor environments and adapting to changing conditions. Travel to client sites will be a regular requirement.
