Key Responsibilities:

- Participate in project proposal development, cost estimation, both for materials and engineering hours

- Develop FEED reports for instrumentation, automation and electrical upgrade projects including TIC estimates

- Produce and review construction work packages including electrical schematics, loop diagrams, instrument location drawings and installation details etc.

- Ensure Safety, Quality, and Lessons Learned are prioritized on projects

- Performs infrastructure design (wiring, cables and associated hardware) of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Burner Management (BMS), Fire and Gas (FGS), General Purpose PLCs and Analyzer Systems

- Design Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Relay Controls for specific applications

- Perform Panel Design for the above systems; develops material specification to support procurement activities

- Review vendor offers and supports Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE)

- Supports Functional Safety studies including Hazop, LOPA and SIL verification for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

Requirements:

- Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma (Instrument, Electrical) with 5+ years experience

- Knowledge of field instrumentation and LV/MV electrical in an industrial environment

- Experience in the process industry including Petrochemicals and Refining

- AutoCAD and SmartPlant Instrumentation (Intools) capability will be considered an asset

- Self-Starter, able to work effectively with minimal supervision

- Effective communications skills to enhance productivity, support collaboration

- Commitment to safety and supporting both Paton and client safety cultures

- Candidate should be able to travel and work at customer sites when needed
