Job Description:

An Instrumentation and Controls Discipline Specialist responsible for designing and implementing control systems, fire alarm systems, and life safety solutions for industrial facilities, working within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver technical solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Generate complete I&C/LSS design packages including P&IDs and control narratives

- Develop control system designs and optimize process automation

- Provide technical support during system startup

- Review vendor submittals against project specifications

- Coordinate with team members and discipline leads

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards

- Support field activities and construction personnel

- Develop and implement process improvements

- Maintain project schedules and technical quality

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:

- Bachelor's or equivalent vocational degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering

- 4+ years experience with I&C/LSS systems

- Ability to generate design packages with minimal supervision

- Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and controls applications

- Understanding of Fire Alarm and Life Safety System regulations

Preferred:

- EIT certification or PE license

- NICET Fire Alarm System Certification

- Experience with semiconductor facilities

- Knowledge of UL 508A and NFPA 72

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks

- Experience with Siemens PLC and Edwards EST3/EST4 systems

- Strong communication and analytical skills

- Proven ability to work in team environments

Job Details:

Location: Boise, ID

Pay: $39-$58/hr
