We are seeking an Instructional Designer II to develop and design accurate, relevant and timely technical live and asynchronous educational curriculum for learners in the water industry.
This is not a 100% remote job. AWWA runs on a hybrid reporting schedule with at least 3 days in the Denver office and 2 days of remote reporting.
Design and develop educational curriculum and instruction for in-person and remote delivery at a national level through various methods including eLearning, instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning.* + In partnership with the Manager, Education and Workforce, identify relevant content for delivery to learners + Manage and collaborate with subject matter experts, consultants or other invested parties to identify learning objectives and translate complex information into clear and engaging content + Evaluate course content to align objectives, activities, and assessments for desired outcomes + Ensure all educational output is informed by adult learning theory + Use authoring tools and learning management systems to develop and manage content Revise and redesign content to align with new compliance and regulatory principles* + Evaluate, revise, and redesign course content to eliminate gaps in existing materials + Use course data and feedback to inform future content and assessment design Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned including but not limited to*: + Track activities and produce reports for project leaders, executive staff, and volunteers as needed + Attend team meetings, conferences, and training as needed + Know, understand, and follow employee guidelines, employment policies, and department or company procedures
Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years’ experience in education and/or learning and development focused on adult education design required*
Demonstrated understanding of adult learning theory required*
Demonstrated experience leading and/or facilitating discussions with technical experts required*
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering educational content required*
Knowledge of water industry and/or membership associations preferred*
Minimum of three years’ experience in science, engineering, or technical education topics for adults, preferred*
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience developing asynchronous e-learning courses including Adobe suite of products, including Articulate Rise 360, and some light video editing (e.g. Biteable) and LMS platforms required*
Intermediate computer skills and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required*
Pay is dependent upon qualifications; Pay range is targeted between $71,500 - $81,500 per year and is paired with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
