Job Summary
The Solar Installer works as part of a crew to safely and efficiently complete residential and commercial solar installations. This role involves assembling racking, mounting solar panels, pulling wire, and assisting with all aspects of system installation under the direction of the Lead Installer.
- Assemble and mount racking, modules, and related hardware
- Run wiring and assist with electrical connections under supervision
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean jobsite
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist in system testing and troubleshooting as needed
- Support the Lead Installer and crew to complete projects on schedule- 1+ years construction, roofing, or electrical experience preferred
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely
- Comfort working at heights and in varied outdoor conditions
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Valid driver’s license required
- OSHA 10 certification a plus, but training available
- Ability to assist with installation of solar modules, racking, wiring, and balance-of-system components
- Willingness to learn NEC, local codes, and manufacturer specifications under supervision
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; construction or electrical experience preferred
- Familiarity with testing tools such as an ohmmeter is a plus but not required
- Strong problem-solving attitude and ability to follow direction in high-pressure situations
- Commitment to safe work practices and ability to follow OSHA guidelines
- Clear communication skills with team members and supervisors
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to work flexible hours, including possible overtime
- Previous experience in installation, roofing, or a related field is preferred but not required
