You’ll lead a diverse team, coordinate with contractors and internal stakeholders, and ensure every detail meets our high standards for safety, quality, and performance.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Lead all on-site installation activities for HVDC and high-voltage substations.
- Coordinate with civil, commissioning, logistics, and quality teams to ensure seamless execution.
- Guide and support installation contractors to meet safety, quality, and schedule goals.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address risks and delays.
- Represent Hitachi Energy in client meetings and inspections.
- Mentor and support junior team members and new hires.
- Oversee material handling, documentation, and equipment readiness.
- Providing regular updates and reports to senior leadership.
- Evaluate and provide feedback on the construction schedule to ensure timely project delivery.
- Assist the HSE team in ensuring compliance and safety standards are met.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an Installation Manager or equivalent.
- Experience with Substation testing and commissioning is highly valued.
- Proven experience with HVDC or high-voltage substations (345–500 kV).
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment assembly, installation, and testing.
- Experience with utility-scale projects is highly valued.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Formal electrical or mechanical apprenticeship, trade, or degree.
- Foster a collaborative team environment.
- Strong knowledge of P6, MS Excel, Procore, BIM/ACC (final user).
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
