Inspector I-III
Compliance:
Reports to: Inspection Supervisor
The Inspector is a 90-percent field position, with travel to DFW Metroplex. The position observes and monitors the installations of plastic mainlines, steel mainlines and large pipeline replacements, service lines, routine maintenance and the repair/replacement of damaged pipe and ensure the work being performed is being done in a safe, efficient and quality manner. The position reports to the Inspection Supervisor and provides feedback on company policies, procedures and programs as necessary and strives for improvement.
Job functions and Operator Qualifications for this position may include, but are not limited to the following:
•Oversees quality assurance of contract crews installing plastic and steel mainlines, service lines and performing maintenance on company system
•Ensures contract crews have necessary Operator Qualifications prior to construction activities
•Ensure Adherence to Construction Specifications and Standards
•Inspects pipe materials, parts and appurtenances
•Records observations during trenching, welding, fusion, backfilling
•Document all required information pertaining to the installation of piping including print line data, asbuilts, testing information, EFV installation, and daily inspection reports
•Accurately GPS required points of the installation of piping
•Verify daily test of fusions as required
•Read diagrams of mains layouts on development plat sheets.
•Inspect pipeline integrity pressure tests; determine and sign off for Pass/Fail
•Inspect mains being purged and pressurized with Natural Gas.
•Supports Operations Field Technician’s in emergency situations requiring system monitoring or customer restoration.
•Responsible for investigating/monitoring any ongoing construction activities near SiEnergy facilities
•Responsible for damage investigations and overseeing all repairs and documentation
•Responsible for gathering all necessary damage documentation in the field to determine party at fault
•Responsible for completing and submitting all required documentation in conjunction with damages
•Completes Company Operator Qualifications as assigned
•Follows company policies and procedures
•Responsible for reporting unsafe work practices to Supervisor.
•Wears appropriate PPE as required
•Follows OSHA, SíEnergy, DOT and other State and Federal regulations and procedures
•Attends company safety meetings and training
•Maintains company vehicle and tools, if assigned
•These duties are not all inclusive and the employee may perform other duties and tasks as required and directed
Secondary Duties
•Maintains company time sheet
•Completes all company training and qualifications required for position
Education Requirements:
•High School Diploma or G.E.D
Experience Required:
•Company Field Technician III or equivalent verifiable construction experience
Skills and Abilities Required:
•Ability to learn SíEnergy’s mapping system
•Ability to learn and follow Construction standards, state and federal regulations
•Ability to learn the inspection of steel welds
•Ability to learn the SíEnergy service territory where they are assigned
•Ability to learn and follow SíEnergy’s forms and manuals
•Ability to utilize company software
•Ability to navigate and work in Microsoft Office Tools
•Ability to travel from time to time and assist in other SíEnergy service areas
Physical Requirements:
•Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
•Must be able to adapt to prevailing weather conditions, extreme cold – extreme heat
•Mist be able to Sit, Stand, Kneel, Walk for long durations of time
•Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, and pull.
•Must be able to traverse uneven terrain on foot
•Works in potentially hazardous conditions caused by pets or wildlife
•Works in areas where exposure to poison ivy, poison oak and insect bites are possible
Other Requirements:
•Must be 21 years of age or over
•Must maintain valid Texas Driver’s license
•Candidates must be able to meet all pre-employment background checks, drug screening and physical requirements as determined necessary by the company
