Inspector
Description
•
Directs and inspects inbound scrap metal to the facility.
•
Knows location of yard inventory
•
Identifies and grades inbound scrap
•
Identifies and rejects unacceptable items
•
Directs customers in traffic flow and proper unloading area
•
Completes inspection ticket and provides to customer
•
Has customer sign appropriate material certificate
•
Maintains good working relationship with customer
•
May operate yard equipment as needed
•
Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
Wears all necessary PPE when working in the yard. Follows company safety standards at all times. Failure to follow standards, may result in loss of position.
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Prior experience in metals preferred. Must be able to interact with customers and vendors in a friendly and courteous manner.
