INJECTION MECHANIC
Job Summary:
The Injection Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components of injection plants, including pumps, motors, and related systems. This role ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently to support water injection operations in the field. The Injection Mechanic troubleshoots and corrects issues, performs preventative maintenance, and maintains accurate service records. This position plays a vital role in reducing downtime, supporting compliance, and maximizing plant performance across Dugan Production Corp.'s field operations.
Essential Duties:
•Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair injection pumps, motors, and associated mechanical equipment.
•Replace or rebuild critical components such as plungers, packing, cranks, crossheads, lubricators, and filters.
•Perform routine maintenance tasks including oiling, greasing, adjusting, and changing parts to ensure reliable operation.
•Dismantle and reassemble mechanical systems using appropriate tools and lifting equipment.
•Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to guide repair procedures.
•Monitor equipment conditions and identify early signs of failure to proactively address issues.
•Maintain detailed records of repairs, service schedules, and component replacements.
•Support the safe operation of facilities by following all safety and environmental protocols.
•Communicate regularly with operations personnel regarding plant status, downtime, or service updates.
•Assist with or perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by supervision.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
•Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, and mechanical systems.
•Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance practices and mechanical inspection procedures.
•Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
•Familiarity with oilfield injection systems and water handling operations.
•Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
•Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and rigging equipment.
•Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
•Commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement in field operations.
Education and Experience:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience in a related field preferred.
•Working knowledge of pump and motor mechanics, including alignment, lubrication, and hydraulics.
•Must meet Driver Acceptability Profile requirements (driving position).
•An equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.
•Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
•Prior experience working with injection systems or in oilfield water operations preferred.
•Familiarity with preventative maintenance schedules and inventory tracking systems preferred.
•Certification in mechanical systems, hydraulics, or related trade a plus.
Working Conditions:
•Outdoor field environment with regular exposure to weather, mechanical equipment, and industrial noise.
•Frequent physical activity including walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
