Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)

Crescent Mechanical is seeking a highly motivated Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) with troubleshooting experience, to join our growing team to complete a wide range of contractual work in the Burlington / Hamilton / Stoney Creek / Niagara / Fort Erie area, servicing primarily the Steel and Food Industries.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, Casual

Salary Type: Hourly

Starting Wage: $38 - $42 Per Hour – Based on experience

About the Job:

Complete a multitude of repairs to various machines and equipment. We also complete new project installations, and modifications to suit our customer's requirements. Old or new – expect to work on it.

Skills and Experience Required:

· Grade 12 or equivalent High School Diploma.

· Completion of a four-year Industrial Mechanic Apprenticeship in the Steel or Food Industry preferred.

· Must possess a valid Industrial Mechanic Ticket (433A) OR have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a millwright.

· Must be proficient at reading blueprints and following schematics and procedures.

· Must have detailed knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques and steps.

· Experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment and machinery that is controlled by a PLC.

· Basic hoisting and rigging knowledge is expected.

· Must be able to learn, detect, and troubleshoot abnormalities and malfunctions in machinery.

· Must have basic fundamentals of welding and be capable of welding stick in a limited role.

· Must have experience torch cutting, grinding, and heat-treating metals.

· Must be able to repair and build machines or components to prescribed tolerances.

· Must have strong communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.

· Must be able to read, write, and fluently speak English.

· Must possess a valid “G” class license with the province of Ontario and personal transportation.

· Committed to working in a safe and controlled environment.

· Must be able to work from heights.

· Must have basic knowledge of the Health and Safety Act and be aware of the fundamental regulations that apply to this work.
