We are looking for an
Industrial Mechanicto join the Rio Tinto Maintenance Department and provide installation, relocation, repair, and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities for the optimum operating efficiency of the Wilmington Plants.

Reporting to the
Maintenance Supervisorand working in a diverse team, you will be
- Working in an industrial environment in a team setting
- Diagnose and repair all types of rotating and conveying equipment including pumps, elevators, screw conveyors, conveyors, belting, material handling and centrifuges.
- Give and receive crane signals, calculate loads and rig correctly
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Use of power and hand equipment, performing varied types of rigging, often at heights which require climbing and the use of safety equipment, i.e. harness, lanyard, SRL’s, man-lifts and scissor lifts
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Four or more years Industrial Maintenance or Millwright experience
- Mechanical aptitude and be skilled at repairing equipment
- Welding or pipefitter experience
- Rigging equipment experience such as wire rope, synthetic slings, cable clamps, hooks, shackles, and other rigging apparatus.
- Experience with welding equipment, pipe machines, band saws, drill presses, hand tools, forklifts, scissor lifts
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Ability to obtain TWIC card from TSA

This role is based in the Port of Los Angeles in the city of Wilmington, California. This historical site is one of the oldest operations in the Port of LA, some employees are third generation workers at this operation.
