Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for leading the indirect procurement strategy at the Aero Alliance JV site in Jport (Houston, TX) ensuring essential services (like maintenance and facilities) effectively support shop operations.
It involves negotiating long-term contracts, managing supplier performance, and collaborating with global procurement teams to leverage cost savings.
The role also works closely with internal stakeholders to align service needs and address supplier issues, while continuously identifying process improvements in vendor and commodity management.
Job Description Roles and Responsibilities
- Shape develop and implement the Indirect Commodity purchasing strategy for Aero Alliance JV site in Jport (Houston, TX)
- Ensure coverage of the different indirect commodities services (e.g., equipment maintenance, facility and purchased services… ) to support shop operations needs.
- Negotiate Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and long-term contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and service quality
- Liaise with Channel Partner Commodity Managers to maximize volume negotiation benefits on common vendor agreements.
- Define and monitor key performance targets, including supplier allocation, cost savings, and vendor performance metrics
- Cooperate with internal stakeholders (e.g. Gate Leaders, EHS, Finance, DT, HR…) to identify service needs and introduce new suppliers as required.
- Act as Supplier’s escalation point in case of non-conformity or missing performance.
- Identify process improvement areas to streamline commodity management process or vendor engagement by functional owners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or commodity management, preferably within manufacturing or industrial services.
- Proven knowledge across indirect procurement services (MRO, Facility & Professional services, logistics etc…), KPI & specific contract requirements preferably in the aerospace or advanced manufacturing industry.
- Proved professional experience in Category or Commodity Management role: volume buy segmentation, MSA development & negotiation, vendor base monitoring, scouting and rationalization.
- Solid understanding of key long term contract terms and ability to customize it reflecting different scope of works peculiarity
- Strong analytical skills & project management ability
- Strong negotiation skills, ability to interact with JV lawyers for contract finalization
- Proven influencing skills, ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive strategic initiatives across departments
- Excellent presentation, communication and team player attitudes
- Self-starter, high motivation level, ability to define short/mid-term priorities
- Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects requiring on time communication/update with key stakeholders
- Continuous improvement mindset, able to thrive in an ambiguous environment
- Availability to travel for business purposes
