Independent Contractor – VRU Mechanic / Specialist

Callender Valve Repair, located at 2692 E FM 1212, Stanton, TX 79782, provides valve and equipment repair services across the Permian Basin. We work with companies in surrounding areas and are seeking experienced VRU (Vapor Recovery Unit) specialists who want the flexibility of 1099 contracting.

Position Overview

We are hiring an independent contractor VRU Mechanic to service, troubleshoot, and repair vapor recovery units in the field.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair, and maintain vapor recovery units.

- Perform field service calls in oilfield environments.

- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients.

Requirements

- Minimum 1 year of experience working with VRUs (installation, troubleshooting, and repair).

- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

- Valid driver’s license required (work is in surrounding areas, so travel is necessary).

- Truck, tools, and insurance preferred (rental option available).

- Must be reliable and safety-conscious.

- Must be able to communicate in English. (We can work with non-native speakers, but professionalism and allowing time for proper communication are required.)

Compensation

- $20–$40 per hour, based on experience and equipment provided.

- Open to negotiation for highly experienced candidates.

- Weekly pay – 1099 contractor role.

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
