Immigration Attorney

About the Role

A respected NYC immigration law firm is seeking a licensed and experienced Business Immigration Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will handle a variety of immigration matters with a focus on employment-based immigration and removal defense, including representing clients in Immigration Court and USCIS interviews, and managing complex filings.

Key Responsibilities

- Represent clients in Immigration Court and USCIS interviews, especially for removal defense and asylum cases.

- Prepare and file a wide range of immigration petitions including:

- Employment-based: H-1B, L-1, TN, EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, O-1B, etc.

- Family-based: I-130, I-485, waivers, VAWA

- Humanitarian relief: Asylum, SIJ, TPS, U Visa

- Draft and respond to PERM audits, RFEs, motions, waivers, and appellate briefs.

- Conduct legal evaluations for eligibility of nonimmigrant and immigrant benefits for corporate clients.

- Represent clients before Immigration Court and USCIS, including in removal defense, asylum, and SIJ-based proceedings.

- Supervise and support a team of paralegals and case handlers.

- Communicate legal strategies effectively with clients.

- Manage high-volume caseloads while meeting strict deadlines.

Qualifications

- Must be licensed and admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

- Minimum 3 years of experience in business immigration law

- Deep knowledge of USCIS, DOL, and EOIR processes

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong organizational and time-management abilities

- Languages are a plus (Italian, Albanian, Spanish, French, etc.
