The Energy Advisor works with and through management to direct, develop, and execute strategic plans to support and increase heating equipment installation sales volume. The HVAC Energy Advisor will develop and manage an opportunity pipeline to grow sales volume and improve service predictability. Develop and foster close positive, professional relationships with team members and key customers in assigned territory.
- Consistently demonstrates actions consistent with Sail’s Core Values and adheres to Company policies and procedures.
- Works with Operations team to implement and manage a proactive, consultative, and effective sales program.
- Maintains weekly contact with business teams and customers to follow up on promotional efforts and remain informed of their needs.
- Provides effective pipeline management and develop strong working relationships with our businesses and employees to achieve desired results.
- Tracks, manages, and reports activities through a Company-developed Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
- Serves as the technical expert for Hometowne Sail Energy Management, equipment products and solutions in assigned territory, and primary point of contact for equipment installations in the territory.
- Analyzes market trends and potentials; prepares forecasts and reports demonstrating achieved results.
- Monitors and reports on the activities of competitors as information becomes available.
- Cultivates a strong, demonstrable pulse on the market.
- Supports market development, sales promotions, and pricing strategies.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of promotion and advertising programs, and recommends changes or improvements.
- Reviews complaints and suggestions relative to assigned products, or service equipment.
- Recommends changes, improvements, or deletions of assigned products, and develops and suggests ideas for new products.
- Supports all functional team members and management with internal and external projects.
- Minimum of 3 years direct experience with B2C sales.
- Experience in the Heating & Propane Sector is preferred.
- Ability and desire to travel 85% of work schedule (day travel with rare overnights) to customer locations within territory.
- Proficient knowledge of computers and typical petroleum software applications preferred (e.g., MS Cargas, Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Well-developed and effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to appropriately target communication to the intended audience, ranging from Leadership to interactions with employees and customers.
- Attributes required include effective motivation, team building, team involvement, diplomacy delegating skills, including confidence, enthusiasm, and ability to maintain discretion.
- Must possess leadership capability, with the ability to understand the motives and objectives of the Sales team.
- Interpersonal skills to effectively carry out responsibilities and develop and motivate others.
- Self-motivated, ethical competitor with a proven ability to exceed expectations and a high degree of comfort working independently in managing priorities and making decisions.
- Possess creativity/adaptability to successfully manage the Sales territory and effectively address changing business conditions and achieve targeted objectives.
- Position requires the constant and consistent exercise of intellect, judgment, and ability to confidently work alongside executive and managerial positions in similar industries.
- High School graduate or equivalent, with a college degree preferred.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical conducted at our occupational health provider’s location.
- Must meet employment eligibility standards set for criminal background and MVR checks.
The employee will primarily work in a field environment – within and around customer locations that will vary from residences to commercial facilities.
