Position: Human Resources Generalist & Office Administrator – Construction Industry Focus
Location: Pomona, CA | Status: Full-Time | Salary: $75,000–$85,000 DOE
We are seeking a multifaceted HR Generalist who will take the lead on recruiting and onboarding construction and office personnel, while also supporting day-to-day office administration and policy implementation. You’ll play a vital role in developing our internal team, managing employee relations, and maintaining the structure and compliance of our growing workforce.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruiting & Onboarding (Primary Focus)
•Lead full-cycle recruiting for field and office roles (e.g., project managers, foremen, installers, admin staff)
•Post jobs, review applications, screen candidates, and manage interviews
•Conduct onboarding processes, including offer letters, forms, training schedules, and compliance documents
Employee Relations & HR Support
•Be the go-to HR support for both office and field staff
•Assist with performance conversations, issue resolution, and engagement strategies
•Help maintain compliance with California labor law, prevailing wage requirements, and OSHA protocols
Policy & Procedure Implementation
•Work with leadership to establish and enforce HR policies tailored to a construction company
•Ensure consistent documentation, compliance, and communication across departments
Office Management & Administration
•Support day-to-day office operations including supplies, scheduling, and general organization
•Coordinate administrative tasks such as document filing, vendor communications, and office calendar updates
•Help streamline systems and improve administrative workflows in coordination with leadership
HRIS & Records Management
•Maintain accurate employee records in HR software systems (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Paychex)
•Track certifications, licenses, PTO, onboarding checklists, and performance documentation
QualificationsRequired
•2+ years of HR experience in a construction or field-service business
•Strong background in recruiting, onboarding, and employee lifecycle support
•Experience with office administration or executive support
•Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
•Familiarity with California labor law and HR compliance
Preferred
•Bilingual English/Spanish
•Experience with certified payroll or prevailing wage tracking
•Prior use of HRIS platforms and administrative software
•Knowledge of construction-specific staffing needs and jobsite operations
