Job Title: House League Basketball Coordinator
Location: Brantford, Ontario
Duration: September – Approximately 13–15 Saturdays
Hours: Saturdays, 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Organization: Brantford Hawks Basketball ClubPosition Overview:The Brantford Hawks are seeking a passionate and organized House League Basketball Coordinator to lead our Saturday youth basketball program for the 5 to 12 year-old age group. This role is ideal for someone who loves basketball, enjoys working with youth, and thrives in a leadership position that promotes fun, fairness, and sportsmanship.Key Responsibilities:
•Game Day Operations: Oversee all Saturday league activities, ensuring games start and end on time.
•Team Coordination: Manage schedules, team assignments, and ensure smooth transitions between games.
•Referee Management: Schedule, supervise, and support referees to ensure consistent and fair officiating.
•Coach & Player Support: Act as the main point of contact for coaches and players, addressing any concerns or issues that arise.
•Positive Environment: Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and fun atmosphere for all participants and spectators.
•Conflict Resolution: Handle disputes or behavioral issues calmly and professionally.
•Safety & Equipment: Ensure all equipment is available and in good condition; enforce safety protocols.
Qualifications:
•Experience in youth sports (coaching, refereeing, or coordinating) is highly preferred.
•Strong leadership and communication skills.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks and people in a fast-paced environment.
•Passion for basketball and youth development.
•CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.
Compensation:
•Competitive hourly wage or honorarium (to be discussed based on experience).
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 months
Pay: $17.93 per hour
