We are seeking an experienced Hot Oiler Operator to join our field operations team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining hot oil units to safely heat and circulate fluids during field operations. The ideal candidate will have previous oil and gas, particularly in oil rig and pipeline environments; a strong understanding of well circulation and pressure operations; and a commitment to safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. This position requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, variable-schedule environment.
- Operate and maintain hot oiler units to safely heat and circulate fluids during field operations
- Follow dispatch instructions and coordinate with field supervisors and other crew members
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner (e.g., field tickets, FLHAs, inspection forms, etc.)
- Ensure proper setup, operation, and shutdown of equipment in accordance with company procedures and OH&S regulations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, as well as electronic driver logs
- Load, transport, and handle hazardous materials in compliance with TDG requirements
- Maintain communication with clients and dispatch regarding job progress and any changes in site conditions
- Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and other company safety initiatives
- Work in varying weather conditions and perform manual labour as required to support operations
- Maintain communications with Dispatch and coworkers
- Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Maintenance, and Accounting departments
- Maintain professionalism and respectful communication with drivers, clients, and co-workers
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating hot oiler units in the Oil & Gas industry
- Strong understanding of heating systems, pressure operations, and fluid transfer procedures
- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s licence with clean abstract
- Standard First Aid, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), and H2S Alive safety tickets
- Working knowledge of TDG, Hours of Service, and OH&S requirements
- Ability to complete all required documentation accurately and efficiently
- Physically capable of performing hands-on work in outdoor environments
- Willingness to work extended hours during the winter season; no set schedule – work as required
- Proficiency with computers (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn new systems
