Key Roles / Responsibilities:
•Oversee all aspects of the parts department including inventory control, procurement, sales, and customer service.
•Manage and maintain parts inventory levels based on forecasted demand and historical data to avoid overstock and shortages.
•Develop strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and warranty claims.
•Supervise and train parts staff, ensuring high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
•Collaborate with service managers, technicians, and sales teams to ensure timely delivery of parts.
•Monitor parts orders for accuracy, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.
•Maintain and optimize the use of the inventory management system.
•Prepare and manage departmental budgets, reports, and forecasts.
•Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
•Resolve customer complaints or issues efficiently while maintaining a high standard of service.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
•5+ years of experience in parts management, preferably in heavy equipment, construction equipment, or related industries.
•Strong knowledge of heavy equipment brands (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo).
•Proficient in parts inventory software systems (e.g., CDK, ADP, SAP, or other ERP systems).
•Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
•Mechanical aptitude and understanding of heavy equipment systems is a plus.
•Valid driver’s license and clean driving record may be required.
Working Conditions:
•Bending, lifting, climbing, pushing, pulling, kneeling, sitting stand, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, pull, push, climb, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see and standing (occasionally) for long periods of time.
•The essential duties of this position require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying.
•Exposure to moderate noise levels, vibrations, and bright lights; and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases; and all climate types including hot and cold temperatures, humidity, rain, snow, etc.
•Able to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and hard hats when needed.
•React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
•Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
•Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
•Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
•Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
