Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to join our Construction Matting, Access & Erosion Control team at UTS Construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating various types of heavy machinery on construction sites. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of equipment such as dozers, wheel loaders, compact track loaders, and excavators while contributing to various construction matting, erosion control and restoration projects located in or near electric utility projects or storm restoration efforts.

Responsibilities

•

Operate heavy equipment including dozers, wheel loaders, compact track loaders and excavators in an efficient manner.

•

Project sites are typically in electric utility right of ways so an excellent understanding of equipment limitations is vital.

•

Perform tasks such as installing construction matting, erosion control measures, and transporting materials or equipment to construction sites.

•

Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

•

Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timelines.

•

Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment.

•

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

•

Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with dozers, compact track loaders and excavators.

•

Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues that may arise during operation.

•

Ability to work effectively on construction sites, adapting to varying conditions and challenges.

•

Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors.

•

A valid driver's license is required, but a CDL is preferred.

•

Willingness to obtain CDL if employee does not possess one.

•

Physical ability to perform manual labor as needed, including lifting and moving materials.

•

Willingness to work overtime as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
