The Front end Loader/operator responsibilities range from entry level tasks to a leadership role. The incumbent will succeed in accomplishing their duties by maintaining a constant awareness of their surroundings by ensuring all activities and responsibilities associated with this position meet Benmet Steel and Metal’s operational standards.

Essential Skills:

•

Familiarity with heavy equipment, Front end Loaders.

•

Experience as a heavy equipment operator (Scrap Material Handler)

•

Minimum of three years of experience with scrap metal

•

Must have a strong knowledge of ferrous metal

•

Must be accustomed to repetitive movements, lifting and year round working outdoors in a safe and efficient manner.

•

Work outside in a variety of weather conditions

Duties may include but are not limited to:

•

Move material to allocated areas in yard

•

Load and unload trucks

•

Perform general housekeeping duties to keep yard clean and organized

•

Perform some preventative maintenance on equipment (i.e. greasing)

•

Ensure piles are safely piled to avoid material from falling or piling down

•

Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment

•

Maintain cleanliness of yard

•

Achieve or exceed operational targets

•

Reviewing, tracking and filing equipment pre-operational checklists

•

Report accidents/incidents/environmental issues to upper management

•

This is a hands on role that involves walking the facility, inspecting materials and finished products.

•

Other operating duties may be assigned

Salary Based on Experience.

Pay: $22.50-$25.00 per hour
