ShearWorx, LLC has immediate openings for experienced general Heavy Equipment Operators. This position requires 100% travel. While you may be assigned to a single location for an extended period, relocation between job sites is frequent and based on business needs. The Heavy Equipment Operator (General) job role may be responsible for running a variety of heavy equipment including heavy forklifts, material handlers, front end loaders, backhoes, and/or excavators with thumb or magnet. The duties will include loading and unloading material, staging of material for processing, and/or providing other services on a jobsite where these types of equipment are required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Heavy Equipment Operator (General) role requires:•Performing of all pre-shift and safety inspections of assigned equipment and completing daily inspection reports
•Obeying all safety, operating and work guidelines
•Operating equipment in a safe and timely manner
•Making operating adjustments as necessary to achieve quality and productivity targets
•Care of equipment including fueling, checking and filling all fluids, and other checks as needed
•Reporting condition of equipment and maintenance needs to supervisor
•Utilization of personal cell phone to access work related applications for pre-shift, mid-shift and post-shift usage
•Keeping the assigned piece of equipment clean and in good working condition

Must Have:
•2 years’ experience operating equipment working in the construction or scrap industry or in an industrial setting.
•Must be willing and able to travel extensively-Company reimbursed fuel, hotel, and meals via per diem
•Understanding of the limits and safe operation of equipment
•Working knowledge of the metal preparation process
•Have a functional smartphone with proper storage to install and use 1-2 apps for work purposes
•Ability to work as part of a team
•Sitting, climbing, stooping, lifting, checking, visual inspection, hearing, listening, operation in a safe manner according to work instructions
Nice-to-Have:
•Bi-Lingual with fluency in both English and Spanish.
•5+ years’ experience operating equipment working in the construction or scrap industry or in an industrial setting
•Possess leadership skills
•Mechanically inclined w/ ability to diagnose minor mechanical issues
•Ability & Knowledge to change mechanical repair components
•Working understanding of Hydraulic systems on equipment
