Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Truck repair, maintenance, and diagnostics, with experience working on a variety of vehicles and machinery. This role involves performing repairs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Candidates with dealership experience or familiarity with heavy equipment are highly preferred. Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues using schematics and technical manuals

- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and inspections

- Work on heavy equipment including excavators, Bucket Trucks, Loaders and Forestry Equipment

- Utilize power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery for repairs

- Operate and maintain industrial equipment safely and efficiently

- Follow safety protocols related to electrical systems, HVAC components, and mechanical systems

- Read and interpret technical schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical or electrical problems

- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs needed and maintenance schedules

- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications

Skills

- Proven mechanic experience with strong knowledge of automotive repair processes

- Experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators, Bucket Trucks, Loaders and Forestry Equipment

- Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance and assembly processes

- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting gear safely

- Mechanical knowledge of electrical systems within vehicles and machinery

- Experience reading schematics for troubleshooting electrical or mechanical issues

- Strong customer service skills to explain repairs clearly to clients

- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary

- Knowledge of HVAC systems related to automotive or industrial applications is a plus

- Experience working in dealership environments or with complex machinery such as Altec, Freightliner and Western Star or other heavy-duty brands is advantageous

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
