We are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, Environment & Training Advisor to join our team. This role plays a key part in promoting a safe work culture, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, supporting environmental stewardship, and developing training programs for our crews working in high-risk environments.
- Provide day-to-day support, guidance, and coaching to supervisors, employees, customers and contractors on HSE and training requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, work plans, and incident investigations; follow up with corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, railway and mining regulations, including provincial/federal legislation and company standards.
- Support the development, delivery, and tracking of safety and technical training programs for powerline, railway and mine site operations.
- Facilitate safety meetings, training and orientation sessions.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including spill prevention, waste management, and reclamation activities.
- Develop and update HSE policies, practices, procedures, and emergency response plans.
- Analyze safety and training data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, auditors, and client representatives.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (combination of education and experience will be considered).
- Minimum 1–5 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably in powerline construction, utilities, mining, railway or other high-risk industries.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal safety and environmental legislation (e.g., OH&S).
- Experience with training program development and delivery (technical or safety-related).
- Strong investigation, reporting, organizational and communication skills.
- Professional safety certification (CRSP, NCSO, CHSC, or equivalent).
- Strong computer skills including MS Office 365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related platforms.
- Powerline Technician, Electrical or Heavy Construction experience an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote sites as required.
- Permanent resident of Canada.
