Job description
The HSE Supervisor role will serve as the primary oversight for all environmental health with regards to the overall health and well-being of Open Mountain Energy employees and the public at large. This position will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of all safety programs in accordance with Federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Experience with geothermal drilling rigs is preferred. This position will work at both the drilling sites and at the Reno office.
Open Mountain Energy, LLC will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Assist in the development and management safety & training procedures for office and field personnel to ensure proper environmental, health and safety practice and protocol
•Conduct safety inspections and environmental testing; Record and report findings and recommend corrective action where necessary
•Oversee and report on all aspects of contingency and emergencies plans within the worksites
•Interact with outside, governing entities such as OSHA, EPA, Worker’s Compensation, SCATs, etc.
•Coordinate safety committee guidelines and all environmental & safety recognition programs
•Conduct HSE audits, incident investigations (including 5-Why analysis), and identifies / approves of corrective actions
•Document, track and maintain OSHA logs in collaboration with Human Resources
•Create and maintain Material Safety Sheet program
•Establish, supervise, and maintain the first aid functions at all company sites
•Collaborate and inform Human Resources on worker’s compensation documentations and return to work/ light duty programs to facilitate the safest and quickest possible return
•Manage security efforts to protect all sites
•Communicate suggestions and recommend solutions to problems to provide for an efficient operation
•Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Working knowledge of OHSA and (NV OSHA) regulations
•Strong organizational skills
•Exceptional attention to detail
•Ability to interact with all levels of employees.
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in related field
•Experience in the rig drilling industry
Preferred Education and Experience:
•Minimum 3-4+ years of experience of Geothermal rig drilling
Physical and work environments requirements:
•Ability to work on a drill rig
•Ability to lift to 50lbs
•Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (i.e., hot, cold, etc.)
•Ability to climb, work at elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways frequently
•Ability to stand for long periods of time consistently
•Ability to stoop, bend or kneel frequently
•Must be able to traverse all areas of working sites
•Must be able to travel to various locations
•Must be able to inspect construction sites, systems, and projects visually
•Must be able to operate a company vehicle with a valid state driver’s license
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
