Wage Range: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
As a Health & Safety Advisor at CIMS LP, you will be a key contributor towards CIMS success by providing H&S support to the operations/project teams while embodying CIMS corporate values of Our People, Our Promise, Our Passion. This role is a 2-month casual contract with eligibility for future opportunities to accept other project assignments in the Ontario region.
You will report functionally to the Regional Health & Safety Lead and be accountable for:
- Providing H&S support and training to assigned Operations/Project teams.
- Ensuring H&S compliance with local, provincial and federal health and safety regulations.
- Maintaining information and training in emergency response procedures, hazardous material handling, and industrial hygiene policies.
- Managing the collection, storage, transportation, and shipping of hazardous waste.
A successful candidate would be an individual who has:
- A bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field or equivalent or a combination of a post-secondary degree/diploma and a post graduate certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Completion of CRSP or NCSO designation or actively working towards the designation.
- 5+ years of experience in a Health and Safety role, with preference given to experience in a heavy industrial environment.- Extensive knowledge and application of environmental health and safety legislation and industry standards.
- Ability to review a variety of sources such as legislation on health and safety standards to become informed of the scope of employee relations cases.
Working conditions you can expect while performing your role include:
- May be required to work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- May be required to work outside of normal work hours on occasion to meet deadlines.
