GENERAL SUMMARY

This position performs tasks requiring specialized technical knowledge that requires a high degree of independence. Issue, collect and process personnel dosimetry to meet the radiation dose monitoring requirements of 10CFR20 and plant procedures. Maintain department budget and long-range plans, analyze and provide clear and concise project, budget, and cost reports to customers. Assist plant Health Physicists and Chemistry Specialists in the performance of self-assessments, corrective action program implementation and development/review of technical basis documents.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Advisor Duties:

- Maintain responsibility for all dosimetry and exposure records for CGS. Process owner and administrator for the issuance and retrieval of dosimetry to plant personnel to support regulatory requirements in 10 CFR 20. This includes entering qualifications into tracking systems.

- Issuance and retrieval of all plant personal dosimetry.

- Accurately maintain the legal dose records for American Nuclear Insurers requirements.

- Ensure all plant personnel, including guests, contractors and outage employees properly receive, maintain, and complete dosimetry equipment and training.

- Ensure successful outage in-processing by maintaining dosimetry records, representing the Radiation Protection Department at the in-processing center, performing initial passive monitoring for internal dose assessments and issuance of dosimetry.

- Develop and revise forms and procedures as needed to meet department needs with assistance from subject matter experts

- Perform reviews and evaluations of department activities, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations, standards, and recommendations. Identify, recommend, and implement corrective actions as needed.

- Record administrator and subject matter expert for the Radiation Protection Department Qualifications. Responsible for the safe storage and transmission of qualification records generated by the Radiation Protection and Chemistry Departments IAW 10CFR20 subpart L

- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to lower-level HP staff members, and consult with management to plan, develop, and implement strategic objectives.

Budget Oversight:

- Develop, maintain, and provide routine reports (i.e., monthly variance) for RP annual budget.

- Process Budget Change Forms as required.

- Prepare, submit, and manage contract and purchase requisitions, payments, and changes as assigned.

- Evaluate project budgets and interface with the budget managers and Finance on findings and needed changes.

- Evaluate and provide recommendations to RP Supervision and Management for corrective actions to mitigate cost/schedule overruns.

- Independently provide budget reports, graphical charts, statistical models, etc., as requested by managers for planning and problem resolution.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience within a technical environment including two years of experience in Radiation Protection or Chemistry;

OR an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and five years of experience in a technical environment including two years of experience in Radiation Protection or Chemistry;

OR a high school diploma/GED and seven years of experience in a technical environment including three years of experience in Radiation Protection or Chemistry

Pay Range:

$92,750.00 - $139,124.00 Annual

Midpoint:

$115,937.00

This position is salary, non-exempt in which the successful candidate would receive overtime for any hours worked over 40 hours in a pay week. The salary would be offered within the range stated above.

Typically, selected candidates are hired between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

Offers will be negotiated based on each candidate's qualifications.

Incentive Compensation

This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
