Snapshot of Your Day:
We are looking for a Head of Repair Engineering in Houston, TX to lead the development of unique repair solutions of engineered-to-order turbomachinery.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
•Manage the development of service center repair business activities, including the development of a strategic plan, management of regional repair engineers, development of tools and programs, related technical support, organizational development, related process governance and support of regional marketing and sales activities.
•Lead the regional service center engineering teams to ensure the customer fleet is successfully repaired and running in a timely manner.
•Manage the budget for the department and successfully execute the absorption and utilization targets, as well as maintain project assignments and capacity planning regionally.
•Oversee investigations, reduce non-conformance costs, drive market and sales quotation scope and accuracy, and resolve technical issues and discrepancies associated with customer and Siemens Energy discrepancies in fleet repair methodologies.
•Establish strategic and operational objectives for the repair engineering department and develop annual operating budgets for the department, aligned and coordinated with approved plans and targets annually.
•Assign, lead, and develop all operational and management staff for the repair engineering function.
•Collaborate and support the development, improvement, and harmonization of engineering policies and procedures.
•Build, improve, and maintain work processes, instructions and tools connected to the engineering disciplines.
•20% domestic/international travel required.
What You Bring:
•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience.
•Full term of experience must include: Centrifugal and reciprocating complete operational understanding;
•Steam turbine and gas turbine complete operational understanding;
•Develop Engineering policies and procedures;
•Technical drawing creation in NX or CAD;
•Knowledge with repair options on rotating equipment; and
•Ability to calculate interference fits, stresses on rotating elements, volumetric and mass flow, efficiency losses.
•20% domestic/international travel required.
