About The Role
The Underground Utilities Power Groundhand supports the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical power lines and related infrastructure. This entry-level position involves manual labor, equipment handling, and assisting linemen and equipment operators in the field to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the setup, preparation, and cleanup of job sites.
- Handle, transport, and organize materials, tools, and equipment.
- Excavate trenches manually or assist with machinery to install conduit and cable.
- Install underground conduit, pull cable, and seal conduits and handholes.
- Work around and assist with heavy equipment such as diggers, trenchers, and vacuum trucks.
- Follow directions from supervisors and linemen to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Maintain safe work zones and assist with traffic control (flagging) if needed.
- Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance of hand tools and equipment.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers with necessary materials.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- High School Degree, or equivalent.
- CDL required.
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 75 lbs regularly.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and near high-voltage equipment safely.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Prior experience in utility work, construction, or electrical work is helpful but not required.
