Are you ready to lead cutting edge testing programs in a dynamic environment? Join our team under the guidance of the Engineering and Maintenance Manager. As a Generator Operator, you would play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our customer’ test programs at KEMA Labs- Chalfont.
AS A PART OF OUR TEAM, YOU WILL:
- Operate generators and related rotating/stationary equipment in manual and semi-automatic modes.
- Perform condition-based inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Maintain daily logs, statistical data, and test records; analyze trends and prepare reports as required.
- Conduct electrical power switching on Low Voltage and Medium Voltage equipment and perform Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Maintain and repair generator systems and instrumentation, including gauges, relays, meters, and control components.
- Assist in overseeing major repairs and overhauls of generators and equipment.
- Update schematics and operating procedures; evaluate and recommend improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company regulations, industry safety standards, and operational requirements.
- Train and support junior staff in safe and effective operational methods.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering and Maintenance Manager.

- Associate’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ operating utility-scale electrical/mechanical systems and large rotating equipment.- Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, electrical power systems, and safe electrical switching practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and data sheets.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and testing industrial-grade electrical and mechanical equipment, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in maintaining rotating electrical machines as well as supporting power and control equipment.
- Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic instruments, along with safe use of maintenance tools, and repair techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate solid interpersonal skills.
