Generation Technician I Headquarters: West Side Hydro
Hourly Rate: $51.77/hour
Day Shift
The West Side Hydro Project is a hydroelectric generation facility located near Estacada, Oregon. Typical duties include the maintenance of roads, trails, and rights-of-way for the hydroelectric plant. This maintenance will include but is not limited to snow removal, brush removal, grass cutting, weed eating and boat work in the plant’s reservoirs. Other duties may include working in operating powerhouses assisting during plant maintenance outages.

DUTIES: (Essential Job Responsibilities)
- Perform various inspections, repair, construction and maintenance of project equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Perform work in support of the repair and maintenance of project roads.
- Operate vehicles and all types of equipment as necessary to support maintenance activities (CDL/tanker endorsement required)
- Load, secure, and haul equipment on a tractor-trailer.
- Service and assume responsibility for obtaining proper maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Operate Heavy equipment as needed to support operations maintenance needs, including but not limited to front end loader, excavator, skid steer, bulldozer, road grader, mobile crane, water truck, fish truck, bucket truck, roller (road maintenance,) forklist, manlift, scissor lift,
- Perform housekeeping duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and cleaning project facilities.
- Perform brushing, chainsaw, and other “manual hand work” as needed to support operations, maintenance, and to meet FERC requirements.
- Perform administrative duties such as use of computer-based maintenance programs, data collection, report writing, utilization of relevant computer programs.
- Use installed and portable test equipment and technical manuals to troubleshoot equipment and system problems as trained.
- Have primary responsibility for systems as assigned and conduct training sessions as assigned.
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance as qualified. Perform calibrations as qualified.
- Participate in individual and group goal setting and achievement by initiating and adapting to change.
- Participate in self-directed work teams. Provide and receive feedback on team and individual performance.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Two years of documented experience working as a Heavy equipment operator or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Pass preplacement medical examination, drug test, and physical fitness examination
- Possess and maintain valid driver’s license and demonstrated good driving habits, and operate forklifts as required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class A CDL driver’s license with Tanker endorsement within 6 months.
- Regularly pass a criminal and identity background check in compliance with FERC, NERC, WECC, and CIP regulations.
- Must pass the MASS Aptitude Test.
During the probationary period following reassignment to any job, at least two progress reports will be completed. These reports will be discussed with the employee by his/her immediate supervisor, and copies of each will be given to him/her.
Salary Range:
$51.77 - $51.77
Starting pay is listed in the job posting above. Salary range determined by the current collective bargaining agreement and may include step increases based on time in the position.
