The Full-Stack Developer will design, develop, and maintain Poseidon’s cloud-based condition monitoring platform. You will collaborate with a small, agile engineering team to implement frontend and backend components, maintain databases, and deploy applications on cloud platforms. This position requires problem-solving across the full stack and offers opportunities to lead technical initiatives and contribute to the evolution of Poseidon’s industry-leading condition monitoring software. In the position of Full-Stack Developer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following areas:
- Design, develop and test features for Poseidon’s cloud-based condition monitoring platform
- Develop frontend and backend components using modern frameworks and development practices
- Maintain and optimize databases to ensure reliable, high-performance storage and retrieval of application and time-series data
- Deploy and maintain cloud applications
- Define and maintain software build and release schedules factoring in customer needs and company objectives
- Generate technical documentation including requirements, design specifications, and test procedures
- Contribute to the development of mobile applications for interfacing with products in the field
- Collaborate with other engineers to develop and maintain data processing methods
- Work within existing and create new engineering processes for software design and development
- Support Poseidon’s Production Team as needed to ensure delivered product meets customer expectations
- Continuously improve software engineering practices to increase product quality and company efficiency
- BS or MS Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a full-stack developer
- Proficiency in backend technologies including Node.js and Express.js
- Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably Angular with experience with React
- Experience with MongoDB in Node.js applications
- Experience deploying, managing and maintaining applications on cloud platforms (experience with Google Cloud preferred)
- Familiarity with software version control systems, preferably Git
- Ability to contribute to user-friendly interfaces
- Excellent documentation skills
- Reliable, highly motivated, hard-working and resourceful
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
- Familiarity with time-series databases such as InfluxDB
- Familiarity with Mongoose object data modeling library
- Experience with data visualization frameworks (e.g. Highcharts)
- Working knowledge of GraphQL
- Experience with the Ionic framework and Material Design
- Exposure to PostgreSQL
- Experience with condition monitoring, IoT, or industrial data systems
