Foundry Finishing Technician at Demir Engineering
If you’re looking for hands-on work with real growth potential, Demir Engineering is hiring a Foundry Finishing Technician to join our Edmonton-based team.
What you’ll be doing
•Perform finishing operations on cast metal parts including degating, grinding, and shot blasting.
•Use hand tools, grinders, plasma cutters, arc gougers and blasting equipment to achieve final part specifications.
•Work from casting drawings and instructions to ensure correct part finishing.
•Operate equipment like overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop tools (training provided).
•Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output
•Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety protocols.
•Support other production and maintenance tasks as needed—there’s room to learn and grow into other areas.
You’re probably a match if you have:
•A strong commitment to safety and a track record of following safety protocols.
•Physical fitness and stamina—you’ll be lifting, grinding, and handling large, heavy castings regularly.
•Some experience in an industrial or foundry environment is preferred but not required.
•Basic mechanical skills and confidence working with tools and machinery.
•Willingness to learn and contribute to other areas of the foundry as opportunities come up.
•Ability to weld repair steel and stainless steel castings is
•Experience with forklifts, overhead cranes, or other heavy equipment is a plus (training available if not).
