The Solar Electrician Forman is responsible for the installation of photovoltaic & battery systems or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics.
- Install and maintain solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on roofs or other structures in compliance with site assessment and schematics, and configure PV systems based on site conditions and customers’ needs and expectations; connect panels to the power grid.
- Activates photovoltaic systems to verify system functionality and conformity to performance expectations.
- Install electrical conduit and pull wire. Ability to bend conduit.
- Installs module array interconnect wiring, implementing measures to disable arrays during installation.
- Read electrical line diagrams and install a system per plan.
- Understanding of electrical codes and string configuration.
- Complete voltage drop calculations and be familiar with amperage ratings as they relate to sizing wiring.
- Pipe bending and Wiring Inverter mounting and wiring.
- Follows building standards and codes when installing panels and support structures.
- Performs routine maintenance on PV systems including service upgrades.
- Interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
- Lead and Supervise site foreman and lead installers overseeing planning, safety, quality, and work output.
- All other duties assigned.
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction project management, preferably in solar and electrical.
- Experience installing residential solar systems.
