The Forklift operator will operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload material and deliveries, move them to and from storage areas and machines. The Forklift operator will follow a production schedule to transport material to and from designated areas in the facility.
Essential Functions and Duties:
•Responsible for delivering material to each work center as needed for production.
•Responsible for staging all material requested for the following day.
•Responsible for preventive maintenance action items performed daily per company standards.
•Responsible for emptying trash and grinder bins within the Panel Processing area.
•Responsible for leading by example in attendance, PPE requirements, breaks, and to drive compliance in all areas.
•Responsible for completion of daily scheduled work within the scheduled hours.
•Responsible for following all work center processes.
•Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Must be physically able to perform daily tasks, including lifting large particleboard sheets or parts weighing more than 50 lbs. or more.
•Must be able to perform written data entry tasks.
•Must be able to safely drive a forklift.
•Must be able to distinguish between different laminate paper colors.
•Must be able to perform basic math skills and can read a measuring tape and caliper in metric dimensions.
•Must have a strong sense of urgency in accomplishing hourly goals and daily duties.
•Must have the ability to read and write in English.
•Must have prior experience driving forklifts.
Education and Experience:
•Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Will take work experience in lieu of education.
Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions:
•Factory environment, including heavy lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and work in areas where eye protection, hearing protection, and possibly where respirators are required.
