Foreman Electrician
BlueSky Electric Company is a full-service electrical contractor based in Brooklyn Park, MN and is looking to hire a full-time Foreman Electrician.
This is a hands-on position and will be responsible for overseeing a crew on commercial, retail projects, while also participating as a working crew member. The Foreman Electrician will coordinate with the project manager and customers, supervise, assist with installation, order the appropriate tools and materials, and maintain a high standard of safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical experience, general construction knowledge, a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), Uniform Building Code (UBC), local & utility codes, and OSHA safety requirements.
Qualifications
•Must have MN JW license.
•Commercial Electrical experience.
•Experience leading a crew and coordinating multiple aspects of an Electrical project.
•Experience in retail tenant improvements preferred but not required.
•In depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), grounding, bonding.
•3+ years of experience in a leadership/foreman position preferred.
•Experience with retail tenant improvement is preferred.
•Ability to read and interpret plans, schematics, and technical documents related to electrical systems.
•Understanding of Building and Electrical codes.
•Be physical fit to perform the job functions including the ability to stand, squat, bend, lift, and work on roofs if needed.
•Ability to read plans, specifications, and project submittal packages.
•Ability to plan and forecast in order to operate at a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
•Ability to train and mentor others.
•Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Electrical installations.
•Ability to drive equipment such as boom and scissor lifts, skid steers, telehandlers.
•Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
•Maintain required licensing and training requirements.
Responsibilities
•Ensure policies and procedures are followed, work and safety standards are maintained.
•Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
•Supervise and lead a team of installers on residential and commercial projects from start to finish.
•Collaborate with project managers to schedule, prioritize, and coordinate daily operations to meet project timelines and customer expectations.
•Loading and unloading materials to and from the roof/structure being installed on.
•Read plans, specifications, and project submittal packages.
•Manage material inventories, project documentation, and labor hours, ensuring projects stay within scope and budget.
•Analyzing and resolving resolve job site conflicts including, but not limited to, employee complaints and/or grievances.
•Perform a look ahead to stay in front of material and equipment orders.
•Train and mentor future company leaders.
•Analyzing and resolving job site conflicts including, but not limited to, employee complaints and/or grievances.
•Take responsibility for personal and electrical safety on the job site by following and enforcing all safety regulations.
•Complete daily progress reports and submit to the project manager.
•Accountable for the on-site management and safety of assigned construction projects, ensuring adherence to budget, time, and quality standards
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $176,000 - $195,000 total compensation/benefits package depending on qualifications, (negotiated union package)
Expected Hours: 40 hours
Schedule: Day Shift – Typically from 7am-3:30pm
4 weeks paid vacation
