American Well Services is located in Midland, TX and provides well service rigs for the purpose of workover or completion operations. Along with the well service rigs, AWS offers a wide range of additional wellsite support services including, fluid transfer, fishing and rental services, hot oiling, frac tank rental and wellsite construction. American Well Services has partnered with Nichols Oil Tools to provide a full suite of completions and workover solutions to customers in the Permian Basin.

Position Overview:

Floorhands will assist with setup and take-down of equipment on the drilling rig. In this role, the job duties include gathering, handling, and sorting tools, pipes, and other materials that aid in the rig’s operations.

Responsibilities:

- Assists in removing or installing well head and associated equipment

- Lifts, attaches, installs, and works with matting boards, tubing, rods, casing and associated well equipment such as rod strippers, polish rods and pumps

- Operates rod wrenches, tongs, elevators and other associated rig tools and equipment during well servicing operations.

- Assists with spooling or unspooling guy lines, placing and operating hydraulic jacks, and placing of emergency and safety gear.

- Responsible for the maintenance of tubing, rod tongs and hand tools on the rig.

- Follows and supports all AWS HSE policies at all times.

- Knows and uses appropriate PPE at all times.

- Drives company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrain, including highways, rural roads, including paved and gravel surfaces, and off-road situations, including two-track roads.

- Washes and maintains vehicles according to company standards

- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience/Qualifications:

- High school education or equivalent preferred

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- Good communication skills

- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Works well with others

- Basic problem-solving and organizational skills

- A minimum of six (6) months of experience working rotational shift work, working in inclement weather, and/or manual labor experience preferred

- Receipt of proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law

- Ability to communicate, read & write in English

- Ability to clear/pass pre-employment screening, testing and job-relevant hiring requirements

Physical Conditions:

- Able to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

- Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on routine basis

- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision

- Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold

- Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE
