Fitter-Second Shift

This is a SECOND SHIFT position

Purpose:

As a Fitter you will be responsible for assembling and fitting miscellaneous steel components according to technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring that they meet design specifications and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities, and Competencies:

Fitter 1:

+ Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic metalworking machinery. + Basic understanding of fabrication processes such as cutting, grinding, and drilling. + Ability to interpret simple technical drawings and blueprints. + Advanced skills in welding, including the ability to perform intricate welding tasks using various techniques.

+ Adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment. + Willingness to work as part of a team and follow instructions from experienced fitters and supervisors. + Developing a keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in the fabrication process. + Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in various positions. + Openness to learning and acquiring new skills on the job.

Fitter II:

+ Proficiency in using a broader range of fabrication tools, machinery, and equipment. + Capability to perform more complex fabrication processes and tasks. + Advanced ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and blueprints. + Advanced skills in welding, including the ability to perform intricate welding tasks using various techniques. + Strong focus on quality assurance, with the ability to identify and rectify defects or deviations from specifications. + Developing advanced problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the fabrication process. + Ability to coordinate and manage specific aspects of fabrication projects, working more independently. + Demonstrating potential for leadership roles and the ability to assist in guiding and mentoring junior fitters.

Fitter III:

+ Mastery in using a wide range of fabrication tools, machinery, and equipment. + Proficient in complex fabrication processes. + Expertise in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and blueprints.

+ Advanced skills in welding, with the ability to perform intricate welding tasks using various techniques. + Strong focus on quality assurance, overseeing the entire fabrication process and ensuring the highest standards are met. + Strong leadership skills to oversee and manage a team of fitters, providing guidance, training, and coordinating work schedules. + Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are utilized efficiently. + Effective communication skills to collaborate with other team members, engineers, and project managers. + Proactive in suggesting and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and quality in the fabrication process. + Willingness and ability to train and mentor junior fitters, sharing knowledge and expertise.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

Upon offer or promotion, candidate must pass a drug and/or alcohol test.
