Job Summary:

This position provides research support and transforms data into products for use in financial and operational management and in the prosecution of rate cases. Position generates a variety of reports, chiefly on spending and construction activities, and takes routine direction from management or senior personnel.

Essential Functions:

- Extract data from SAP and other company data sources

- Use extracted data to prepare financial and construction activity reports at standard intervals and according to established methods, most often quantitatively (i.e., in spreadsheets) but occasionally qualitatively (i.e., narratives); examples include unit cost analyses, breakdowns of spending by business unit and activity, business information for use in rate case and other regulatory testimony and exhibits, and tracking of completed construction projects by type and location

- Apply accumulated knowledge about the nature and import of available data from company records to design novel reports using appropriate analytical techniques to support newly arising business monitoring and decision-making needs

- Communicate with other departments to answer questions about company data, both by identifying key personnel with subject matter knowledge to resolve data ambiguities and by serving on cross-functional teams to share Engineering knowledge outside the department

- Investigate anomalous costs and discrepancies between expected and actual costs

- Examine maps and diagrams to identify equipment to be replaced within designated work zones.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline

Experience:

No prior experience required.

Compensation: $71,831.20 to $107,746.80 Annually

CenterPoint Energy is required by Minnesota law to provide a good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum starting compensation range at the time of posting for the opportunity. This annual compensation range is specific to Minnesota and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
