Plan, execute and finalize submetering projects for Metergy Solutions. This includes resource management, planning, design, approval, and procurement of materials. The Field Supervisor will lead a team of Unionized Field Technicians and work towards maximizing efficiencies with scheduling, and oversee quality control and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
•Ensure that day to day operational problems which impact on service delivery are identified and resolved through working with field staff, Project Managers, customers, and third-party contractors.
•Frequent travel throughout Ontario to monitor construction progress on active projects, optimize resources and ensure efficient scheduling to maximize available resources.
•Work collaboratively with the Installations Field Manager, Installations Service Manager, Operations Manager, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators to develop work schedules and prioritize assignments to ensure that project tasks are completed on time.
•Ensure that the field staff submits field work reports in timely manner.
•Supervise and provide technical work training of field technicians around electrical and mechanical equipment, including troubleshooting of metering hardware for accuracy and communication problems.
•Train field personnel and conduct installation inspections on sub-metering equipment as per Metergy Quality Management System and Measurement Canada standards.
•Prepare regular reports on team performance, productivity and key metrics while maintaining accurate records of work orders.
•Foster effective customer relationships with property management, site personnel, and end customers to help advance business goals and objectives.
•Promote a culture of safety and ensure that technicians adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications:
•5+ years field-based submetering experience required.
•Post-secondary education (Electrical/Mechanical stream preferred)
•Ability to motivate and focus staff to meet or exceed district targets
•Sound base knowledge of residential/commercial building mechanical and electrical distribution systems
•Ability to interpret electrical/mechanical construction drawings
•Experience with sub-metering systems, electrical devices, and equipment
•Project management and/or construction management experience
•Independent worker with the ability to take imitative and work with minimal supervision.
•Practical hands-on aptitude
•Troubleshooting skills and knowledge of the use of test instruments
•Excellent communication & organizational skills
•Valid Class G driver's license and personal vehicle and willingness to travel extensively within Ontario.
Physical Effort and Working Conditions
•Frequent travel within the GTA and surrounding Municipalities
•Sitting at the desk for long periods of time.
•Working in electrical distribution rooms/closets.
•Occasional travel out of Province.
•Occasional overtime is required during travel by car.
•Occasional lifting of and/or transporting of construction meters to and from site using your own vehicle or company transportation.
•Working with in hazardous areas with potential for electrical shock hazard.
Additional Information
•Have a great attitude and to be a team player.
•A strong understanding of health and safety on construction site(s) and in particular around electrical equipment.
•Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act.
•A Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
