Field Operations Manager - Utility Damage Prevention
We are seeking a motivated Field Operations Manager to lead and support utility Damage prevention services. This role involves providing exceptional damage prevention services, maintaining safety standards, and assisting in training and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will have experience in utility locating, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work in outdoor environments.
This position includes the use of a company vehicle.
Candidates without people management experience and underground utility locating and mapping will not be considered.

- Successfully manage the economic stability of the area by controlling labor costs, increasing revenue, providing quality work to clients, implementing safe work practices, maintaining proper asset management, and vehicle maintenance.
- Conduct damage investigations, troubleshoot difficult locates and perform quality assurance checks.
- Develop and revise standard operating procedures.
- Manage KPI’s to exceed customer expectations.
- Maintain accurate records using paper and electronic systems.
- Interpret utility maps, engineering plans, and drawings.
- Ensure necessary equipment and supplies are available to field employees.
- Communicate professionally with clients, contractors, and the public.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all employees, utility customer personnel, and the community.
- Ensure that customer relations are at the most professional level and that the quality of service is world-class.
- Responsible for the interviewing and selection process of personnel within the Area.

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
- 7-10 years of industry experience.
- 5-7 years of operational and supervisory experience, preferably in a force-to-load labor environment.
- Proficient in underground utility locating and mapping.
- Strong computer skills in multiple types of software including Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of locating equipment and utility mapping tools.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficiency in reading utility maps and engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and field operations.
- Must be skilled in analytical thinking and reasoning, organization, communication, planning, presentation development and delivery, and community relations.
- This position involves multiple work environments including working from a company vehicle and outdoor work in various weather conditions and environments, including traffic and construction zones.
