The duties of an intern may vary based on the job. The main responsibility is to assist the Carpenters, Foreman and Site Superintendent on site with whatever task is assigned. Learning and per-forming tasks swiftly and efficiently, paying attention, following proper safety procedures and communicating is paramount.
Full time position, requiring minimum of 40 hours/week - often weekend work may be required, essentially whatever it takes to get the job done. Environmental factors depend on job location but may include extremely cold, extremely hot and humid conditions in an effort to meet client expectations.
Field Interns must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination and endurance. Must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.
A Field Intern who exhibits above-average proficiency in the trade and consistently demonstrates initiative, who gets their assignments done properly and who works to in-crease job knowledge and their skills, who has strong communication skills, demonstrates leadership qualities, has a positive attitude about the work they produce, who effectively relays information to employees, who effectively handles the role and responsibilities timely, and accurately may be in line for advancement.
