FIBER INSTALLATION/REPAIR TECHNICIAN 2 - Clinton

Gibson Electric has a Fiber Installation/Repair Technician 2 position now open for the Clinton Member Service Center at 30 Gibson Dr., Clinton, KY.

This position is eight hours per day, Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM. Employee must respond immediately to 24- hour call-out and work overtime as needed, including weekends, nights, and holidays, and live within or be willing to relocate to live within 25 miles per Google Maps to the office.

This position performs all types of telecommunications line construction, maintenance, repair, and retirement on overhead or underground fiber lines in conformance with Gibson Connect and industry specifications; provides appropriate documentation of work completed and materials used; performs In-Premise residential and commercial installs; and trains and educates customers on how to utilize internet-connected equipment including voice and video products.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or the equivalent; valid Drivers License; one or more years of experience performing fiber splicing or related work; skills and ability to install/maintain/remove fiber optic drop or mainline cable; splice any drop fiber in customer premise location utilizing automated splicing equipment; install/maintain/remove fiber-based customer premise equipment; and as authorized and approved, install/maintain/remove and splice distribution and backbone fiber.
